Congratulations to Tommy Colley, Assistant Administrator of the Alabama Manufactured Housing Commission, on his selection as the 2018 AMHA Person of the Year!
Mr. Colley was elected the winner by the AMHA membership. The award was presented to Mr. Colley by Doris Hydrick, AMHA Executive Director, during the Multi-State Convention at Perdido Beach Resort, Orange Beach, AL, on August 6th.
Person of the Year nominations are submitted by members of the Association, and the nominees are then voted on by all members. The person with the most votes receives the award.
Mr. Colley began his career in the manufactured housing industry in 1976 when he was only 14 years old painting frames in a plant. He went to work for the Alabama Manufactured Housing Commission in 1997, where he now serves as Assistant Administrator. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Southern Region Council of State Administrative Agencies and as a member of the Manufactured Housing Consensus Committee. He was previously a quality auditor with Housing and Building Technology. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Troy University. He is an elder and part-time minister for Mt. Hebron Church of Christ and is an avid fisherman.
He has his wife, Lisa, have been married for 31 years. They have two children: Ethan and his wife Kaela, and Devon and her husband Sam.
