Alabama Manufactured Housing Association Endorses Justice Sarah Stewart for Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice

Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Manufactured Housing Association – a trade association representing companies involved in the manufactured housing industry – has announced their endorsement of Justice Sarah Stewart for Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.
“I am proud to receive the support of the manufactured housing industry and the business community at large,” said Justice Stewart. “As Chief Justice, I will run the ‘business’ side of the court system as efficiently as these business leaders run their companies.”
Made up of businesses representing the various segments of the manufactured housing industry, including manufacturers, retailers, installers, finance companies, communities/parks and industry suppliers, the Alabama Manufactured Housing Association is committed to ensuring that affordable, quality housing is available to all Alabamians.
“It’s important that our next Chief Justice not only be fair, but also understand the inner workings of Alabama’s judicial system and know how to manage the daily operations of our courts,” said Association Executive Director Lance Latham.
Mr. Latham also pointed to Justice Stewart’s work with 15 Place Homeless Service Center in Mobile as an added reason for the manufactured housing industry’s support for her candidacy.
“Justice Stewart has a heart for people in need, and especially people who need a home they can afford. We are honored to stand by someone who shares our industry’s values of making the American Dream of home ownership attainable for all Alabamians.”
Justice Stewart is a long-time resident of Mobile, AL, where she practiced law and was the first female president of the Mobile Young Lawyers. In 2006 she was appointed by Gov. Riley as a Circuit Judge in the 13th Judicial Circuit. She was elected Associate Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court in November 2018.
Justice Stewart holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Arkansas, and is a 1992 graduate of Vanderbilt Law School where she was vice president of the Law Student Association.
She and her husband, Craig, have two children. Justice Stewart has been active in the Mobile community as a member of Leadership Mobile, Junior League of Mobile, 15 Place Homeless Service Center Board, Girl Scouts of the Magic Empire Board, and Ashland Place Methodist Church.
