He later sold Homes of Legend and, in 2003, opened Kabco Builders, where he continues to serve as President. Mr. Bennett has served on the AMHA Board of Directors since 2008, including three years as Chairman of the Board. He was selected as AMHA Person of the Year in 2010 and currently serves as chairman of the Board of Directors for the South Central Manufactured Housing Institute.

Carl James began his career in the manufactured housing industry in 1967 with a summer job at Vulcan Homes. He went on to work with Marion Homes and Olympic Homes, before joining Franklin Homes in 1975 as Sales Manager. He then joined Indies House as Vice President and Sales Manager, until he joined Cavalier Homes in 1995. While with Cavalier, Mr. James served as President of Riverchase Homes and Belmont Homes, and as Director of Purchasing. During this time, he also served as President of Cavalier’s Supply Division. Since 2010, Mr. James has worked as Chief Negotiator for the Manufactured Housing Buyer’s Group, where he works with 25 independent manufactured housing plants. He also served one term as a city councilman in the City of Phil Campbell (1992-1996), and as pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church from 1999 until 2013.

Congratulations to Mr. Bennett and Mr. James!
