Doris Hydrick, Executive Director of the Alabama Manufactured Housing Association, has been selected as the Alabama Manufactured Housing Association’s Person of the Year for 2019.

Orange Beach, AL – Ms. Hydrick was elected the winner by the AMHA membership. The award was presented to Ms. Hydrick during the 2019 Multi-State Convention at Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach, Alabama on July 29th.

“This is such a special honor,” said Ms. Hydrick. “I am truly humbled and grateful to the members of AMHA for this recognition, and am proud to be a part of this industry that I love so much.”

The Person of the Year Award is one of the oldest and most prestigious awards given to members of the manufactured housing industry. Nominations for Person of the Year are submitted by members of the Association, and the nominees are then voted on by all members.

Ms. Hydrick began her career with the Alabama Manufactured Housing Association in 1996, rising to Assistant Director in 1998 and Executive Director in 2013. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Alabama Housing Foundation, the industry’s charitable organization that assists families in need with home repairs, renovations, and replacements.

During her tenure with AMHA, Ms. Hydrick led the effort to pass the Alabama Manufactured Home Certificate of Title Act, wrote and produced educational programs about the manufactured housing industry for high school students, and established the Alabama Housing Foundation.

Ms. Hydrick is a member of the Alabama Council of Association Executives, sits on the board of directors for the Alabama Civil Justice Reform Committee, and serves as Treasurer of the South Central Manufactured Housing Institute’s board of directors. She attended Huntington College in Montgomery and is a member of Frazer United Methodist Church, the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, and the Montgomery Ballroom Dance Club.
